Domestic violence is a complex issue that affects individuals, families, and communities. At ABC Counseling , we are committed to creating an environment that promotes accountability, healing, and personal growth. Our program is designed to address the root causes of violent behavior and equip individuals with the tools they need to build respectful and non-violent relationships.

Types of Violence and Abuse

Physical Abuse (Hitting)

Physical abuse involves the use of force, resulting in bodily harm or injury. This can include hitting, slapping, punching, or any form of physical aggression. Our Domestic Violence/Batterers Treatment Services address the root causes of physical abuse, promoting healthier ways of managing conflict and expressing emotions.

Verbal Abuse (Name Calling)

Verbal abuse can be just as damaging as physical abuse. Name-calling, insults, and derogatory language can erode self-esteem and create a toxic environment. Our counselors work with individuals to foster respectful communication, teaching alternative ways to express feelings without resorting to verbal aggression.

Emotional Abuse (Blaming)

Emotional abuse involves manipulating or undermining an individual’s emotional well-being. This can include constant blaming, criticism, and the intentional infliction of emotional pain. Our services focus on breaking the cycle of emotional abuse, helping individuals build resilience and assertiveness.

Sexual Abuse (BDSM)

While BDSM itself is a consensual activity involving trust and communication, it’s important to distinguish between consensual practices and abusive behavior. If there are concerns about consent violations or if BDSM practices are being used as a guise for non-consensual harm, our counselors can provide guidance and support.

Sense of Fear/Guilt

Abusers often use fear and guilt as tools to maintain control. Our treatment approach helps individuals identify and overcome these emotional manipulations, empowering them to break free from the cycle of fear and guilt.

Impaired Functioning

Domestic violence can impair an individual’s ability to function in various areas of life. Whether it’s work, education, or daily activities, our services aim to restore functionality by addressing the underlying issues contributing to impaired functioning.

Hampered Social Relations

Abuse can isolate individuals from friends and family. We assist in rebuilding social connections, emphasizing healthy relationship dynamics and fostering a supportive network.

Passive-Aggressive

Passive-aggressive behavior can be challenging to navigate. Our counselors provide strategies to address passive-aggressive tendencies, promoting open communication and assertiveness.
